The name ‘Team 4mula’ may not be very well know at the moment, but they have recently made a large jump and splash into the world of Competition Skydiving. Again, not the most common sport in the UK or even the world but it has very dedicated participants of which Team 4mula are one of the best. I’m sure most people reading this will be asking how can falling to earth actually be a competitive sport? Well, 4mula are a 4-way formation team with a cameraman and have 35 seconds to form as many pre-drawn formations as possible. The team with the most points after 8 rounds, wins. You can see the team in action at http://www.team4mula.co.uk.
They recently won the British Nationals Rookie title by crowning themselves as best in the UK (see picture below), and the team are looking forward to another successful season in 2012 moving into the next category of competition single A. There are 4 categories in which teams can participate – Rookie, A, AA, AAA with AAA teams being professional and competing at International Level, a place 4mula aim to be at in a few years time. They have a long way to go, but are dedicated and focused enough to realise this ambition.

Now the dust has settled on a really great 2011 season, the team are about to regroup and prepare for the 2012 season and winning the Nationals. The lessons learnt from last season will be used to plan for the next, and everyone has committed their time and effort to being on the podium again next year.
Catching up with one of the team, they commented “Now the team are Champions, I want to do whatever I can to make it happen again which is really what everyone else is thinking. As long as we can maintain focused, plan and prepare as well as we did last season then we have a really good chance of winning again. Oh, and our coach sticks with us!” 4mula are coached by a multiple World Champion who has been there and got several T-shirts so believe they are in good hands.
The team are looking for commercial partners of all shapes and sizes for both next season and beyond. Airkix are they main sponsor currently and will be supporting the team once again with their tunnel training needs, but they do need additional sponsors, so please contact us to find out how you can join Team 4mula on what promises to be an exciting journey over the next few years.
